Data we collect

Depending on how you use Gallery Mate, we may collect:

• Account information: email address, optional display name, and authentication identifiers from Sign in with Apple, Google, or email one-time codes.
• User content you create or upload: exhibit photos, journal entries, notes, reflections, saved links, transcripts, audio guides, floor plans, and messages you send to the in-app assistant.
• Voice samples you choose to record for custom text-to-speech voices.
• Approximate location when you grant permission, used to suggest your current city on Explore and when creating a journal.
• Purchase history for in-app credit packs processed by Apple In-App Purchase.
• Diagnostic data such as crash logs and performance traces when error reporting is enabled.

How we use data

• Provide core app features: journals, artifact capture, OCR, AI chat, audio guides, link transcription, sharing, and offline access.
• Process AI features you request, including label recognition, summaries, speech synthesis, transcription, and optional 3D generation.
• Authenticate your account, sync your content, manage credits, and prevent abuse.
• Improve reliability by monitoring crashes and performance issues.
• Respond to support requests you submit through the in-app contact form.

AI and third-party processing

When you use AI-powered features, relevant user content is sent to our servers and to service providers we use to deliver those features. This may include cloud hosting, speech recognition, text-to-speech, vision/OCR, language models, and 3D generation providers.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate Gallery Mate, under contracts or terms that require them to protect it and use it only to provide services to us.

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
• Sentry — crash and performance diagnostics (user ID only; default PII collection disabled).
• Apple — in-app purchases for credit packs.
• Sign in with Apple and Google — account sign-in.
• AI and media providers — including Groq, Volcengine, MiniMax, Google Cloud Vision, Gemini (via our AI gateway), fal, and Tripo, depending on the feature you use.

Device permissions

Gallery Mate may request the following permissions on your device:

• Camera and photo library — capture exhibit images and set your profile avatar.
• Microphone — record optional voice samples for custom TTS voices.
• Location (while using the app) — suggest your current city.
• Calendar — add a planned visit to your device calendar when you choose to.
• Photo library write access — save images when you choose to export or save content.

Tracking and advertising

Gallery Mate does not use your data for cross-app advertising tracking. We do not request the App Tracking Transparency prompt for advertising purposes, and we do not sell data to data brokers.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account data and user content while your account is active so you can access your journals and artifacts.

You can delete individual journals, artifacts, links, and other content inside the app at any time, or request deletion at https://www.gallerymate.xyz/en/delete-data.

• Delete your account: open Profile and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account, journals, artifacts, chats, credits, settings, and other data tied to your account. This action cannot be undone.
• After deletion, we may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes—for example, purchase records held by Apple, or diagnostic logs that are no longer linked to an active account.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Gallery Mate is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

International transfers

Gallery Mate and its service providers may process your data in different countries or regions. Depending on the feature you use, this may include locations where our cloud hosting, authentication, AI, payments, or diagnostics providers operate. We take steps designed to protect your data consistent with this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Gallery Mate after changes become effective means you accept the revised policy.
